Nerja...

Forget La Cueva de Nerja, the real treasures are to be found nestled amongst the winding pebbled streets of the old town. Nerja is a stunning Spanish seaside resort on the Costa del Sol, much favoured as a fiesta location by Spanish holiday makers.
Nestled amongst the many shops and street stalls which sell almost anything are several very good household shops, mainly specialising in decorative pieces or unnecessary objects as my reluctant boyfriend refers to them. This is the same man who has told me I do not need to spend my weekends in household shops hunting down such items as these are the things you collect along your travels. Seen as " I was on my travels " so to speak I picked out some gorgeous little treats for my home sweet home. Unfortunately I was flying Ryanair and only had a carry on case so I was limited to what I could bring home otherwise I would have (credit card allowing) bought literally everything in sight. Instead I parted with some old well worn flip flops and managed to squeeze the following little gems into my slightly bulging hand luggage...

Winter Warmers....

Im not sure what the weathers like where you all are but this side of the world has seen a considerable chill in recent weeks. Ive been busy thrawling the shops for that perfect winter warmer coat! I have faux fur in mind for the christmas season... Im yet to find my perfect party seaon coat but I did get some great cosy house ideas along the way.

My Happy Birthday!

Something amazing happened to me last month...I was surprised with a weeekend in Paris for my Birthday! I love Paris and what a great time of year to visit.
We stayed in Porte Maillot and were lucky enough to have dinner at the famous Le Relais de Venise restaurant aka Restaurant L'EntrecĂ´te. This is fast food french style... after a 40 min wait outside (trust me its worth the wait) we were shown to our table a walnut salad (the best ive ever tasted) was thrown at us and we were asked Quelle cuisson? (How do you want it cooked?) The only item on the menu is steak and frites served with a secret sauce, words cannot describe how good all of this tasted. And desert was amazing too! Its must go when in Paris...

Obsession by CK...

Or my obsession with CK. Cath Kidston that is! Cath Kidston is a British designer, distinctive for her witty vintage inspired prints and simply to die for home wares. She is a must have for any House Mouse!

My house is speckled with little drops of Cath Kidston charm. I even enjoy ironing now thanks to my gorgeous floral ironing board cover.

Here's some of my fav's.

Escape to the Country...

Hello followers / fellow bloggers apologies for my lack of posts this week. Ive been hiding out in my favourite spot in the depths of Connemara. No TV, no Internet connection and shock horror no phone signal!

I guess you could say I have been to rehab, iphone addiction rehab. Yes my best pal has been switched off and firmly placed in the glove compartment of my car for the last week.

To me nothing beats the peace and quiet of a country retreat. The fresh air, the smell of the turf fire, BBQ sizzling outside the back door, which following the cooking of dinner subsequently becomes that of a camp fire.

There's nothing more romantic than the charm of country cottage decor. It's nostalgic, nautical, rustic and cosy all rolled into one stunning patchwork quilt.

So pull up your seats, benches and picnic chairs, grab your glasses of wine and join me for some rehab...

Make an entrance!

They say you should never judge a book by its cover or a house by its hall! But I believe in first impressions. Ive been in my little nest for almost a year now and im only getting around to the hall now. If like me you live in a small space, your hall can pose as that extra room you never had.

Ill be using the bank holiday weekend to get my hall in shape, in the meantime here are some "Hallways from Heaven", Enjoy!
